First Fire Night of Fall

We were thrilled the weather had cooled off and we could do a fire night on the porch.   We invited Grammy and Papa over for a not very fancy dinner (pizza) and an evening in the porch with a fire.  It was prefect.  We loved being able to have them over and visit.   We enjoyed roasted marshmallows and all the fixings!

Fall Break 2017: 30A Florida

This year we did the trip with some fiends of our that we met at a small group when the "littles" (Maggie and Jane) were just months old and still in carriers.   The Mulvaney's and the other families are very special to us.   We were talking about a break trip and realized schedules matched so we jumped on planning a trip together.   We had a blast!

We are ready!  This vacation is some much needed family time and break from routine!
I still am amazed at how much stuff we "need" to take.  Clearly we over pack!

Dinner at "Three Eared Rabbit" on the way down.  It was a yummy little deli.

Beach Day 1:    All in!  A full day at the beach.  We had not done much grocery shopping so were not able to pack lunches.  We were very spontaneous (yes, I am really working on that).   The dads were awesome to find a SubWay and bring us all back lunch so we could stay and play longer.

the beach and ocean is so refreshing and healing to me.  It manages to hit the reset button and all me to come back so much more prepared for life!

Jane and Maggie

The girls had a blast together!
We came back from the beach and hit the pool!

Silly games!

a nice dinner out at Cafe Thirty A

One of our favorite things to do is night crab.   With the hurricane Nate blowing in we were not sure we would get to go any other night.  So after dinner we snagged buckets, headlights and any flashlight we could find and went hunting!

These girls did great looking for them and gabbing them!

My favorites!
The next few day we were at the beach but with double red flags were not allowed in the water.  We enjoyed as much sand as we could

It was wonderful to have friends for the girls to play with and for us to visit with.

Maggie loved chasing these around!

A full day.  After showers I found Maggie snuggled up sound asleep!

We of course had to go to Blue Mountain Creamery for ice cream!  (okay, we did go twice!)
Day 3 Nate blew in and we had rain all day!  We planned a big breakfast then to go into Destin to do air brush shirts and hang out.

Annual Tradition

Silly girls!
We were driving and happened to see the ocean.  These waves were the biggest I have ever seen.  Thanks to Nate!   We had looked to see if there were red flags up  and apparently we found the only spot that only had one red flag (hindsight that was an error).   We told the girls they could put their feet in and one thing lead to another and we told them to go all in.  We had no dry clothes or towels, but we sure had a great time.  Jimmy and Matt decided they should get in. When you ask the girls their favorite memory this is top of the list!

Capturing the moment!

Emma and Gracie

My loves!

This picture really captures the storm that we were enjoying!

Jimmy originally did not want to get his feet sandy just to get back into the car!  I love that he was okay with the sense of adventure we were in and quickly did not want to be left out.

all in!

What do girls do while they home and dry and wait for the parens to get ready for dinner?  of course, paint nails.

Dinner at Boeshamps!  I love this man!

we did snag ice cream one last night.  Maggie slept in the car and I could not get her to wake up.   So they all brought it to the car!

Day 4: still double red flags.   So we decided to go back into Destin!   We did a little shopping at the outlets, bowling, and ended the night with more night crabbing!

These guys!

Perfect suitcase!

what a cool water themed bowling location!

same stance!

The whole group!

Last dinner

The girls new favorite drink!  They loved this at the Schmitz wedding this summer!

light up balloons on the beach!

Gracie picked this grab up!! It pinched her pretty good!  But she got him!
I love how he loves them!

and with that we left with so many wonderful memories, well rested, and eager to spend time with the Mulvaney's again!
