Wrapping up school!

This week we reversed schedules and Jimmy traveled several days.  I loved the extra snuggles, hugs, and moments I got!   The girls always miss us when we travel but they did really well.

Maggie Bella snuggles in the morning

They love her more today than when we surprised them with her.   They both do such a good job caring for her.

We have loved the nice weather and being outside!

Gracie reides her bike every day if the weather is great!   She really needs to move to the next size.
a sleepy girl!
It was teacher appreciation week.  My favorite part of the week is flower day.  Since Gracie has been at CCS I have decorated large jars for each teacher they have had.  It is fun to personalize them and see them filled at the end of the day.

Jars are ready for the teachers

Gracie's teacher Mrs. Smith

I think this is my favorite door decoration ever!

Year books came out this week and the mission statement really stuck with me.   I love "lead and serve with distinction...in all areas"
Friday Maggie had a sleepover with her best friend Addison.  It has been so fun to watch these two grow together.  They have been together at school since they were just a few months old.

While Maggie was playing hard, we took the opportunity to do Gracie's birthday date with us.  For several years now we have given the girls a date night with just Mommy and Daddy.   They have loved it.  They choose dinner, activity, etc.   Gracie decided on Public House for dinner, a little shopping for new PJs, a bike ride and then and then to watch the Force Awakens.

Gracie 10th Birthday and Daddy Daughter Dance

The best way to start the week is with the night of worship.  Our church quarterly does a night of worship.   This time the kids all performed the first song.  I love to see the girls worship with their friends.

Late night!  Maggie being held by her Daddy!

Gracie on Wednesday officially turned 10!  Double digits!   She is quite the young lady!  We are so proud of her.

Breakfast (Gracie put a candle in her bagel and wanted us to sing to her)

The girls can choose their birthday dinner...anything or anywhere.  Gracie's choice (after 3 years of spaghetti) was French Toast on the grill, homemade buttermilk syrup, and bacon on the grill.    It was delicious!

Panera birthday lunch at school with Mommy!

This smile tells it all....it was a great birthday!

Gracie with Mrs. Smith her teacher!

I still love sleeping pictures of my girls.

Facebook post with this picture:   Routine days are so easy to pass by. I am working to stop in the routine of life to just be. To embrace it for the moment. To remember through my lens these days. As they are fleeting. Sooner than I would like to admit these precious girls will be off to college and independent. While I know we will have a special relationship it will never be the same as when they were all under our roof. And that is okay. But I will cherish this moment.
One sleeping on the way home after a long day of 4th grade (oh to be there again...well maybe not) and the other taking non stop about her day (while I try to determine fact from fiction).

Just a little downtime!
The laptop is about as big as she is!

What do you do on a  weekend when you are out and about?  You grab lunch with family!

Gracie, Ellie and Maggie

Ellie and Gracie!
The girls spend the first part of the year talking about the last Daddy Daughter Dance and then the last half planning the next one.  Gracie asked to have her hair done (by someone other than her Mom!), but that is a special thing for something like prom!  The girls had a great night at dinner with friends and their dads, then the dance, followed by dessert at the Hot Chocolatier!

All dressed up.....
This picture is so bitter sweet to me...its a reminder how fast the time passes as they grow and an eagerness to see how God continues to grow and mold her life!

Sisters!  They do love each other most days!
