We enjoyed the sunshine as much as we could when it was not raining! Bella became more interested in the pool this year and especially when it was close to storming! Gracie tried to teach Jimmy a better swimming technique too!
4th of July we sent home and went to Grammy and Papa's too watch the fireworks off their porch. You can see them all around the house so the girls rotated between the back and the front
Jimmy has been with First Horizon bank for 21 years in different roles, but most recently in a PM and PM Manager. This year an opportunity opened for him to move into a Credit Risk Manager role which he has always been interested in at some point.
More fun captured this summer. We did have one trip to the doctor with Maggie who has a horrible swimmer's ear infection.
Bella enjoyed the girls being home more than anyone I think! Gracie especially would snag snuggle time each day! When you ask Gracie what she is going to miss about summer in relation to starting school she always talked about enjoying making her lunch. She perfected the English muffin, smashed avacado and runny egg on top and would make it for Jimmy often too!
We were so blessed to have Abigal nanny for us this summer. She is like family to us as we have watched her grown from a sweet toddler to a beautiful young lady. I did not snag many pics but the girls had a great time! They played lots of games, enjoyed the pool and maybe most of all the occasional weekly outing for lunch and a treat to get out of the house.
We had booked a trip with dear friends of ours, the Borings, in early January before COVID hit and decided since it was out west and the numbers were looking okay with extra precautions we decided to go. The girls were disappointed that their trips were all canceled, but we decided we needed this! Mom and Dad cam into town to move their things into storage in TN and stayed with the girls and then Abigal kept them Sunday/ Monday until we got back home. It was a perfect trip.
We crammed into a small car from the hotel in Atlanta to make it to the airport. There was not much room left but we got to the airport. When we landed in Jackson Hole we had the day to explore and enjoyed dinner at the White Buffalo Club. Hands down the best meal I have had!
We were starving when we landed and found a great Mexican place with no wait!
Jokingly I have always said this to Jimmy since we started dating. So when we saw the sign it was perfect for him to snag a pic.
Grand Teaton was day 1: We took the boat over to the other side of Jenny lake, hiked to Hidden Falls and then onto Inspiration point. We packed a picnic lunch at String Lake that was absolutely perfect. I enjoyed a nap that was so peaceful. then onto Antelope Flats, Schwabacher Landing, Snake River Overlook, Oxbow Bend, and finished at Lakeshore Trail. Lakeshore Trail Jimmy was above over it with the bug bites but he hung in there. On the way home we called in pizza from a great place in Jackson Hole and picked it up to eat in a near by park. Then onto the best ice cream place! It was a full day but filled with so many memories.
Day 2 was Yellowstone and a very long day! We had a 3 hour drive from Jackson Hole so we started very early. It was also the coldest day, but did warm up. We focused on the Lower Loop. We did the Brink of the Upper Falls, Uncle Tom's Trail (was closed but were were all around it), Artist point, picnic lunch by a great little body of water where we hung hammocks, Mud Volcano, Old Faithful and Geyser Hill, and Grand Prismatic Overlook. Trail.
Saturday - last full day we enjoyed massages, pool time (lunch every day was a picnic lunch by water so our last day was no different), and then a float down the snake river. It was fabulous. We did dodge some weather and only got some small rain showers. We then had dinner at the chuck wagon and ate inside the teepee.
Goodbye Jackson Hole! You treated us so well. We are looking forward to bringing the girls back next time.
The girls did some back to school supply shopping while we were gone. They had fun doing that with Gjysh and KK and we appreciated not having that on the to do list when we got back home!
