The Year of Doctors Visits!

We are praising God for health for all of us and no significant health issues, even as we have gone through this year!

This summer Gracie struggled with ear infections that would not clear.  We saw the doctor multiple times, different antibodies and drops, and then the ENT.  We think we finally have it under control and have learned how to manage it with being in the pool daily.

Daddy told her she was going to get a shot at the ENT.  Just Kidding!

Maggie more than ever has taken us to our knees to pray.   She had been complaining about her legs hurting (which has been the case off and on since she was a toddler and we always just thought growing pains) then she starting recently complaining of her arms hurting.  Combine that with at her 8 year check in with Dr. Smith she had dropped off the growth chart due to her height.  This started a first round of blood work and a bone age study.    Blood work looked great and her bone age study was positive, showing her bones were 5 years and 8 months while her age was 8 years and 8 months. This is positive as it showed she was not advanced in her growth and had more time to grow.   However, he referred us to an Endocrinologist to ensure we did not have a further medical reasons for what he was thinking was "short stature".   So we had the specialist visit and a second round of blood work.  She was awesome!    And praise God we have no medical issues.  She is perfectly shorter!

8 year check in

Anxious about what Dr. Smith may want to do next

yep..waiting for blood work

She was so brave!!

one behind us... then we waited for the results!

Bone Age study (x-ray scan).   Much easier that all the blood work

All smiles as we wait for the sound round of blood work.

She did not like it the first time or the second.

She earned the stretchy band!

When we chose this for her wall when she was just a toddler.    Never did I imagine how meaningful this would be this year.   We have always declared this over her as she has never been big, however as we walked this journey to confirm there was no medical issue driving her stature we reminded her of this daily regardless of the outcome of the tests.
