Canada Take 1

When we knew Katelyn, Ellie and Silas would be living in Toronto the first 4 months at lsat of 2018 we started trying to plan how we would see then.  This was going to be hard to have them so far away.  Uncle Gabe offered to have the girls fly up with him for a long weekend and we all jumped at that opportunity.   While Jimmy and i would have loved to have gone, we knew we really wanted to be sure the girls had the opportunity and the value of some independent travel without parents was good (but not alone).

Yes, Maggie git in the bag they packed in!

When you are in middle school and skipping a day of school, you work really hard to have it all done before you fly out so you are not behind when you com back.

They had no problem saying goodbye!

Cupcakes at 1am when they flew in!  These girls were excited to be reunited!

I think they did eat here at least once a day!!

I think all the pictures I have from the trip they are in winter coats, hats, boots, etc!  It was very cold!!!
The start to a very long trip back home!!

We had it all planned, the girls and Gabe would fly back into Chattanooga at 10:30pm on Monday night (girls had a planned day off of school).  It would be a late night, but worth it, and back to school Tuesday.  BUT.... by the afternoon travel got really interesting.   Their flight out of Toronto kept getting pushed back due to winter weather and they were going to miss their connection in Chicago.   So while Uncle Gabe entertained the girls in the airport Jimmy and I began to work through flight changes.   After multiple flight changes and further details they were flying into Atlanta at 12:30am on the last possible flight.  It was critical they made this flight as we were getting snow the next day and schools were closing.  We knew if they did not get home before the storm hit us in Tennessee they would be stuck in Chicago for a day or so.   With 10 minutes to make their connection in Chicago and us praying hard here they ran (yes, really ran like crazy people) through the airport to make their flight..that was then delayed!  But they were on and arrived in Atlanta at 1:20am.   We were all in bed by 4am, but glad everyone was home settled.

We laugh and say this is going to be one of those memories "Hey Uncle Gabe, Remember when we spent a whole day in the airport and then had to run like crazy through the airport?".   I hands down have the best brother (and sister in law) to be willing to take the girls on such a big trip and make memories to last a life time!
