Sunday was a wonderful Sunday to worship and support others. Our church did “PINK Sunday” to support a sweet family at church who’s wife/ mom is dealing with breast cancer. We decked out in pink and wrote sweet letters to love on them! Pastor Ryan also shared a message on marriage and vows. It was neat he had all the couples stand and take our vows again. It was funny as Jimmy said “I guess you get what you wanted” because I though it would be neat years from now to do a big party and renew our vows, Jimmy on the other hand thinks that is all show and not necessary. So we laughed but enjoyed the time to refocus on our marriage, be challenged to be selfless every moment, and take communion together remembering Christ who gave the ultimate sacrifice.
Sunday was a big day for Maggie; she graduated to the 4s and 5s class at church! Really? Stop the clock! She is the smallest (of course) but the teachers loved her and she enjoyed the older students.

Monday was a rare day the girls have school and we are off (yes, its a wonderful “banker holiday”). I took the girls to school and as is our routine dropped Gracie off first with hugs as she walked into school (by herself I should note, she goes through carpool in the mornings and does great!). Immediately when the car door shut, Maggie said “lets go to Cracker Barrel”. I laughed as she proceeded to stay “a table with two chairs, we can sit there together...”. I laughed and asked Maggie “you want us to go now?” She smiled big! O my, she is rotten. Off to school she went with big hugs as she ran to play with her friends!
Jimmy and I did a little shopping and enjoyed a quite lunch together talking and dreaming (really planning) about life down the road. Its fun to think down a few years where we will be, not to rush the kids growing up! We even got a run in once the girls went to bed which was really nice to get back to that.
Gracie school note: I think we finally have this math fact thing figured out. We needed to encourage her to do them with speed and with lots of repetition. Soo we have a jar that she can fill with one penny for each math fact she gets in one minute. She has to do at last 5 minutes a day (1 minute segments). It has seemed to click. Jimmy says that is because she is like me. She said the other night “we have 2 minutes left, but can we do 3? That way I can get more pennies”. We have also broken down what we are working on into 30 or so facts at a time to help her with the consistent repetition. I think we may have it. The goal is to be able to answer 30 math facts in 1 minute by the end of the year. AND these parents are much more wise this time, over this next summer we will be working on multiplication facts before we even get to 3rd grade!
We got through the week which included a trip to Nashville for work so we could hit the beach Thursday! We always look forward to vacations and the beach, but this time there was also the anticipating of going to a beach we never have been. This beach, Santa Rosa FL, was know for the blue water and white sand! This would be a new experience for all of us. We could not get our feet into the sand fast enough!

We got unpacked, picked a few groceries and met up with Aunt Tammy and her family. It was great that our fall breaks matched and they decided to come too! We have many memories and lots of photos to capture the long weekend. One of the “favorites” of the trip was the sand castle building lessons. It was so much fun. We were so competitive that we all ended up working on different creations rather than one large castle, but we had so much fun! We are already looking forward to next year!
