I can't believe this day has come! It often seems like we were just picking out her name, reviewing daycare options, choosing her Pre K school, then choosing again for CCS, dropping her off for weeks in Kindergarten crying as they hugged her tight so we could leave, and all the other milestones along the way. In some ways this has passed in an instant and in other moments I see the sweet slowing of time as she grew at a perfect pace for her! This pace has taken me a long time to learn and understand.
Gracie has ended 5th grade with all As and her scores have reflected continued growth with high averages above her peers in reading and math. Gracie, you worked hard!! I hope this encourages you that as you enter Middle School and have areas that don't com easy that you look back and see you can do it!! We are so proud of you.
During the promotion ceremony today some numbers were shared.... you have spent over 600 hours in art, music and library in your elementary years, 6,000 math problems, 150 hours of Bible, 150 memory verses as you learned God's word, and began to demonstrate leadership as you were a 4th grade buddy to the kindergarten class. Every time we enter CCS we are reminded in such a sweet way that we all are in God's image and every moment is in worship to Him!
As I think about the Middle and High School Tina Bowen's words ring in my head as she said them a million times when Abigail was headed into Middle School. She said "we only have 7 years left with her". What a great challenge and reminder to soak it in, enjoy every moment, embrace it for it will be passing.
So, today we celebrated! We celebrated Gracie and her promotion to Middle School. Gracie, you will rock Middle School and we can't wait to see how you will continue to grow! Hugs and all our love Bug!

Mommy has been known to schedule Ortho appointment around key events apparently. We put them on right before Christmas, we changed them out on her birthday, and now we changed them again right before vacation. Thank God in a few days the soreness will go away.
