Dude Perfect- Maggie's Birthday Nashville Weekend

We had made a decision years ago that the girls did not need any more "stuff" and for birthdays we wanted to spend time as a family exploring a new city.  It is all about building relationships and memories.    This year the city was set... Nashville.   When they turn 10 they get their ears pierced and we go to Bell Jewelers in the Boro.  It is a family owned jewelry store that the Busey's used and I was a little anxious when we were getting Gracie's done about it being done right and clean.   So Gracie got hers done there and it was such a great experience we knew we would be back for Maggie.

So that was set!  But we happened to notice months ahead of time that Dude Perfect (a YouTube thing) was going on tour and going to be in Nashville.   Gabe and Kat were going and we decided it would be the perfect way to wrap up summer, do Maggie's birthday trip and ear piercing, and have some great extended family time too.   We did not tell the girls about Dude Perfect.    We told them we had decided Maggie could get her ears pierced early (almost 2 months) so we could have one last trip in before school started and Uncle Gabe told them they had to be in Nashville too so would tag along at the same hotel.

Birthday trip and Birthday PJs.

Love the girls so much

any one that has been to almost any meal out with us knows this picture captures real life.   Maggie always ordered  something with fries (and this night chicken tenders).  As part of her order she asks for "a bowl for ketchup" and this night "with ranch dressing".   She wants to keep all her food separate.   We had the best server he brought her truly a BOWL of each.

trips with cousins are priceless.   They were looking at the ATT "Batman" building.

exploring Nashville a bit

We stayed downtown so we could walk to dinner and then walk to the venue.   We thought that would be easier than trying to park all around.   Maggie after dinner when we were walking to see Dude Perfect (she still did not know where we were going) decided she was done. DONE!    Jimmy told her we had about 10 more minutes and if she did not want to stay once she knew what we were doing, she would earn her very first Uber ride back to the hotel with him for the night.    I guess he was pretty confident she would not take that option.    Gracie then after seeing several families in Dude Perfect shirts that they was what we were doing so she was excited although we had not confirmed it.

when we turned the corner she saw the big travel semi and was all in!

To enjoy the full experience we had early entry and cool hats too!

our seats were awesome.  We could see well the entire time and the end competition we noticed a guy with arrow (safety tipped of course) right by us.  We moved the kids from the inside to the outside.   One of the twins came right by us to shoot from our seats to the stage!   It was so cool!

Nashville has so many neat wall murals.   We found this one before we headed out.
I can't believe my baby is getting her ears pierced.  She as been looking forward to this since Gracie turned 10.   And here we are.  She is beautiful inside and out!

just a few tears.  I think her friends kept telling her it would not hurt so she was surprised.

Monkey went with us!
